Tour description

Day 1            Hiking & bear tracking in Székely Land
In the morning, we leave Cluj in the direction of the Eastern Carpathians. In about 2 hours we meet our ranger companion and we start hiking through one of the most savage reserves of the Carpathians. We will walk for some 6-7 hours looking for brown bear traces. 90 % chances to see the bear and 100% to find other wild animal traces like boar, deer and even wolf. Level difference: <800 m. Picnic with traditional food & palinca (plum brandy) included. Overnight in Sovata region. (For more information see the Bear tracking tour).
Day 2             Discovering Székely Land
Early in the morning we will leave for Praid in order to visit the salt mine and take a hike in the salt canyon. The next stop is at the old pottery center of Corund. Later in the afternoon, we will visit the fortified church of Darjiu, which is part of UNESCO World Heritage. Overnight in Sighisoara.
Day 3             Discovering Sighisoara – Malancrav – Biertan – Richis – Cluj
In the morning we will take a tour of the Medieval fortress of Sighisoara. Later on, our first stop of the day will be in Malancrav to visit the most beautiful and the best preserved Transylvanian Gothic paintings. Following stop is in Biertan where we’ll find one of the greatest Transylvanian Saxon fortified churches. At our next stop in Richis we shall discover the history of his village, of the local community and of its fortified church. We will reach Cluj in the evening.
